Coming of the Fall
September 22, 2000

It is quiet
wind moves trees
curtains restless
sparrows eat silently

Watching from my window
any signs of fall?
this is the day...
marked on the calendar

All seems in its place
leaves cling to trees
flowers still blooming
and yet.....
there is something

A quiet subtle something

Light gray sky
sends a cool breeze
a silent message
of the fall

Summers manic
burst of growth
gently coming to an end
several rain drops
sprinkling my window

Birds chirp less
nesting duties over
days are shorter
the coming of the fall

Into the dark I go
once again...this journey
down under
letting go as I venture
slow dance with mother nature
