An August Morning

like a late summer butterfly
i leave confines of cocoon

emerging first light
tender first flight

all so very new
my senses alive
scent of frankincense
sound of ancient rhythms

every plant dances with me
on this fresh, august morning
life is so much sweeter

after journey in the darkness

thought i was going to die
and maybe i did
because being born new today
i just want to live

live and breath and dance
and sing...hold conversations
with each and every thing

all sacred, all new
the coughing , dizziness,
congestion...has transformed
no more flu

filled with the light..
darkness in the past
i’m living every moment
as if it were my last

my love goes out to you
and all the world today
may peace prevail in every
heart..a dream, a wish
a new day
